This unique polyurethane-hybrid restores Portland Cement concrete strength by penetrating deep into concrete pavements and re-bonding cracks. For large cracks, pre-placed sand is saturated with water thin URE-KOTE R-60 polymers to form high strength polymer concrete. URE-KOTE R-60 seals concrete to stop freeze-thaw spalling as well as protecting from further chemical attack and is Traffic Ready in less than 20 minutes. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS ✓ Cracks ✓ Potholes ✓ Spalls ✓ Deck Sealer/Crack Healer on PCC Pavement ✓ Primer for epoxies and urethane resurfacers ✓ Creates Non-Skid and Traction Surfaces ✓ Anchoring Adhesive FEATURES BONDS WITHOUT PRIMER No priming required to bond to concrete, asphalt, steel or wood SEALS & PROTECTS Penetrates, seals cracks, and protects substrates from freeze-thaw spalling. Stops further corrosion of reinforcing steel. FAST REPAIR & CURE Solidifies in 2-5 minutes, penetrating narrowest cracks. SAFE TO USE Non-flammable, No peroxides or heavy metals, Low odor. YEAR ROUND USE Make Successful repairs in freezing weather or in the heat of summer. 10-Minute Traffic Ready for Machine Applied Version 30 – 90 Minute Traffic Ready for Hand-Mix Version, Cure time dependent upon temperature and application technique chosen. USAGE Super Fast-Setting: Simplified application equipment, FASTCAT®, siphons the water-thin liquids (“A” and “B”) from their respective containers through separate hoses and mixes them in a mixing nozzle just prior to application. The mixed liquid is flooded onto PCC pavement, and poured into cracks on concrete decks, solidifying in 2-5 minutes. URE-KOTE R-60 may be topped with coarse aggregates prior to cure for added traction. The mixed liquid cures to a resilient, impact resistant solid plastic, suitable for sealing cracks and repairing spalls on concrete pavement, bridge decks, and concrete floors. URE-KOTE R-60 seals concrete to stop freeze-thaw spalling and chemical attack. Traffic Ready in less than 20 minutes. LIMITATIONS Apply only to properly cleaned and prepared surfaces. Cracks greater than 1/6 inch in width shall be routed to a minimum of 1/4 inch wide by 1/4 inch deep and filled with URE-KOTE R-60 or URE-KOTE R-60 materials. 3. Fill all expansion joints as required – using UREKOTE R-60. 4. All application equipment shall be in good operating condition. 5. Coating materials shall not be applied when the ambient air temperature or the surface temperature is outside the boundaries as stated on the product data sheets and application guidelines. 6. Keep material out of sun or hot areas prior to applying, as this may cause working time to be diminished and could cause poor appearance and/or adhesion. If room and or concrete surface is hot (85 deg F or more) you can spray with cool water and soak for a short period to cool surface. 7. Vacuum the surface free of water, and torch dry if necessary, prior to applying product. Damp surfaces must be thoroughly dried prior to the application of product. This step is essential for proper cure, adhesion, and postcure performance. 8. Product shall be maintained at 50℉ – 80℉. 9. Product may be installed between 20℉ 100℉. For temperatures above or below these limits please consult LiquidConcrete. SURFACE PREPARATION 1. Prepare surface to a minimum CSP-3 profile, removing all surface contaminants, including sealers, oils, or other bond inhibiting substances. Mechanically abrade by shotblaster, scarifier, bushing hammer, scabbler or other means to provide a coarse (rough) texture. 2. For overlays, cut keyway channel (groove), using concrete saw equipped with dry cut diamond blade around perimeter of area to be resurfaced. Keyway channel (groove) depth shall be a minimum of ½” depth. Sur- INSTALLATION GUIDELINES PRE-INSTALLATION CHECKLIST 1. All substrates shall be sound, solid and free from any loose or failing components. All surfaces must be free from previously applied Page 2 of 4 PRODUCT DATA SHEET Product: URE-KOTE R-60 Version: May 21, 2007 faces adjacent to a vertical plane (such as curbs, walls, tanks, etc.) shall have keyway channels cut approximately 4 – 6 inches back from vertical plane towards the interior of area to be resurfaced. Keyway channel shall be ½” deep by ½” wide. 3. For overlays, chip 2 inch wide taper back from interior edge of keyway channel at all termination edges, ie: drains, doors etc.; using bush hammer or chipping gun equipped with a 1 – 2 inch wide spade blade, chip a 2” wide taper back from edge of interior keyway channel (groove) inward towards the area being resurfaced. Taper shall match depth of keyway channel at it’s deepest point which is the edge of the keyway and taper out to 0” at its most shallow point, 2” inches towards the interior of the area to be resurfaced. 4. Rout out all cracks to a minimum of ½” wide by ½” deep, using concrete saw equipped with dry cut crack chasing blade. 5. Vacuum surface free of all dust and dirt. MIXING AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: Mix ratio is 1:1 by volume. For machine applied (FastCat) product refer to your FastCat operators manual and consult your LiquidConcrete representative for specifics. HAND MIX INSTRUCTIONS Before Beginning - Read Entire Document Mix a small sample before working on your specific project so you’ll know what to expect as to what product looks like while setting and curing. Following directions below, try a small amount of material for a test. Remember that as material quantities increase, the heat generated by the product increases, and the potlife of mixed product will decrease respectively. FOR RESIN ONLY REPAIRS - (penetrating crack healer/sealer for concrete pavements, bridge decks, random crack repair, etc.) 1. Measure equal parts URE-KOTE R-60 (equal parts A & B)…DO NOT BLEND TOGETHER YET!!! Set aside. STOP! - BEFORE BEGINNING NEXT STEP MAKE SURE ALL MATERIALS ARE READY FOR MIXING & IMMEDIATE INSTALLATION. MATERIALS CURE VERY QUICKLY. DO NOT PERFORM THE NEXT STEP (#2) UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW UP WITH STEPS #2 thru #3. 2. NOW, using pre-measured R-60 (from STEP #1) Mix R-60 A&B together, stirring for 30 seconds (scraping sidewalls of mixing container) 3. Pour onto application area. For penetrating healer/sealer (a) pour mixture onto surface and spread with squeegee. (b) Broadcast specified topping aggregate. For Pothole Repair and Random Crack Repair (a) Place aggregate in pothole or crack slightly below grade (⅛” below). (b) Pour R-60 onto aggregate. (c) Top with specified topping aggregate. FOR SAND-FILLED/MORTAR REPAIRS - (Shallow chips/spalls, vertical repairs, potholes, patching). These repairs require priming with resin only R-60. SAND - You will need about 40 lbs of #30 or #50 silica sand per gallon depending on how wet or dry the finished mix needs to be. Make sure clean, dry, fine-grade approved aggregate is open and ready for use. Set aside (see Step #5). Prepare 2 batches of resin only R-60. One for the sand-filled application and one smaller batch for priming. 1. Measure equal parts URE-KOTE R-60 (equal parts A & B). Example: 4 oz. each A and B for use as primer batch. Then 16 oz. each A and B to mix with sand for Mortar/Grout product. DO NOT BLEND TOGETHER YET!!! Set aside. STOP! - BEFORE BEGINNING NEXT STEP MAKE SURE ALL MATERIALS ARE READY FOR MIXING & IMMEDIATE INSTALLATION. MATERIALS CURE VERY QUICKLY. DO NOT PERFORM THE NEXT STEP (#2) UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW UP WITH STEPS #2 thru #6. 2. NOW, using pre-measured R-60 for use as primer (from STEP #1) Mix R-60 A&B together, Page 3 of 4 PRODUCT DATA SHEET Product: URE-KOTE R-60 Version: May 21, 2007 stirring for 30 seconds (scraping sidewalls of mixing container) 3. Prime prepared concrete substrate with mixed R-60 (use paint “chip” brush to coat substrate with R-60). 4. While worker is priming repair areas with primer batch, second worker mixes R-60 A&B for use as the Mortar/Grout batch together, stirring for 30 seconds (scraping sidewalls of mixing container) 5. Add SAND to R-60 and blend to saturation. NOTE: Adding more SAND to R-60 will create a drier mix. Adding less will make the mix “wetter” and more pourable. Make sure R-60 as primer is still wet on the repair area when applying the R-60 “grout”. 6. Top with traction aggregate.
