All substrates shall be sound, solid and free from any loose or failing components. Substrates must not flex or deform under load. All Page 1 of 4 PRODUCT DATA SHEET Product: URE-KOTE 2000 Version: October 30, 2007 surfaces must be free from previously applied coatings, dust, rust, scale, grease, oil, and other bond breaking contaminants. 2. Cracks greater than 1/6 inch in width shall be routed to a minimum of 1/4 inch wide by 1/4 inch deep and filled with URE-KOTE R-60 or URE-KOTE PF-60 materials. 3. Fill all expansion joints as required – using UREKOTE PF-60. 4. All application equipment shall be in good operating condition. 5. Coating materials shall not be applied when the ambient air temperature or the surface temperature is outside the boundaries as stated on the product data sheets and application guidelines. 6. Keep material out of sun or hot areas prior to applying, as this may cause working time to be diminished and could cause poor appearance and/or adhesion. If room and or concrete surface is hot (85 deg F or more) you can spray with cool water and soak for a short period to cool surface. 7. Vacuum the surface free of water prior to applying overlay (surface does not need to be completely dry). This will help with working time and help prevent the overlay from setting to fast to get good penetration into pores. 8. Product shall be maintained and installed at 50 – 80 deg F, for cold temp application consult LiquidConcrete, Inc. 9. Substrate temperature range must be 50-80 deg F (consult LiquidConcrete, Inc. for cold temp application). SURFACE PREPARATION 1. Prepare surface to a minimum CSP-3 profile, removing all surface contaminants, including sealers, oils, or other bond inhibiting substances. Mechanically abrade by shotblaster, scarifier, bushing hammer, scabbler or other means to provide a coarse (rough) texture. 2. Cut keyway channel (groove), using concrete saw equipped with dry cut diamond blade around perimeter of area to be resurfaced. Keyway channel (groove) depth shall be a minimum of ½” depth. Surfaces adjacent to a vertical plane (such as curbs, walls, tanks, etc.) shall have keyway channels cut approximately 4 – 6 inches back from vertical plane towards the interior of area to be resurfaced. Keyway channel shall be ½” deep by ½” wide. 3. Chip 2 inch wide taper back from interior edge of keyway channel at all termination edges, ie: drains, doors etc.; using bush hammer or chipping gun equipped with a 1 – 2 inch wide spade blade, chip a 2” wide taper back from edge of interior keyway channel (groove) inward towards the area being resurfaced. Taper shall match depth of keyway channel at it’s deepest point which is the edge of the keyway and taper out to 0” at its most shallow point, 2” inches towards the interior of the area to be resurfaced. 4. Rout out all cracks to a minimum of ½” wide by ½” deep, using concrete saw equipped with dry cut crack chasing blade. 5. Vacuum surface free of all dust and dirt. MIXING AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: URE-KOTE 2000 is not a typical 2:1 resin system mixing ratio. Use only in factory supplied premeasured packaged containers. Failure to do so will result in undesirable effects. URE-KOTE 2000 is truly a rapid curing product. Due to fast reactivity pre-blending Part B and Part C prior to adding Part A (hardener) is essential. The following instructions are for blending 1 factory measured kit. SL GRADE (self-leveling) 1. Pour Part B liquid into Part C powder filler. 2. Blend Part B and Part C for one minute. When ready to install; 3. Pour Part A into pre-blended B/C mixture. 4. Blend for one minute. 5. Immediately pour onto floor. Page 2 of 4 PRODUCT DATA SHEET Product: URE-KOTE 2000 Version: October 30, 2007 6. Gage rake to desired thickness (recommend 125 mils). 7. OPTIONAL - [a] Broadcast #20 Unimin or specified non-skid aggregate into uncured URE-KOTE 2000. [b] Broadcast decorative topping flake or specified finish materials. IMPORTANT NOTE: Without non-skid aggregates applied to uncured basecoat, subsequent topcoats will not adhere. To achieve proper adhesion to cured URE-KOTE 2000, a non-skid aggregate must be applied; otherwise, mechanical abrasion must be used to properly roughen surface prior to application of topcoat. 8. OPTIONAL - Topcoat with specified LiquidConcrete product (recommend URE-KOTE 1000). Due to rapid cure, pre-blending sufficient units of B/C mixture is critical to successful completion of project. Example: Project requires 10 units of UREKOTE 2000. It will be necessary to pre-blend 10 units of B/C mixture, PRIOR to adding Part A to mixture. When ready to install apply all product necessary to complete overlay, add factory measured Part A to each B/C mixture. TROWEL GRADE (overlays and patching) 1. Pour Part B liquid into KOL type mixer. 2. Pour Part C powder filler into same KOL mixing bucket that contains Part B. 3. Blend Part B and Part C for one minute. When ready to install; 4. Pour Part A into pre-blended B/C mixture. 5. Blend for two minutes. 6. Slowly add 50 lbs of #8 Unimin to A/B/C mixture 7. Blend for three minutes or until thoroughly mixed and uniform in appearance. 8. Immediately dispense and onto floor. 9. Spread to desired thickness (recommend 187 mils = approx. 3/16 inch). 10. Broadcast #20 Unimin or specified non-skid aggregate into uncured URE-KOTE 2000. 11. OPTIONAL - Topcoat with specified LiquidConcrete product (recommend URE-KOTE 1000). Due to rapid cure, pre-blending sufficient units of B/C mixture is critical to successful completion of project. Example: Project requires 10 units of UREKOTE 2000. It will be necessary to pre-blend 10 units of B/C mixture, PRIOR to adding Part A and Unimin to mixture. When ready to install apply all product necessary to complete overlay, add factory measured Part A and Unimin to each B/C mixture. EMERY PLATE (heavy duty/high wear applications - overlays and patching) 1. Pour Part B liquid into KOL type mixer. 2. Pour Part C powder filler into same KOL mixing bucket that contains Part B. 3. Blend Part B and Part C for one minute. When ready to install; 4. Pour Part A into pre-blended B/C mixture. 5. Blend for two minutes 6. Slowly add 50 lbs of #20 Emery to A/B/C mixture 7. Blend for three minutes or until thoroughly mixed and uniform in appearance. 8. Immediately dispense and onto floor. 9. Spread to desired thickness (recommend 187 mils = approx. 3/16 inch). 10. Broadcast #20 Emery or specified non-skid aggregate into uncured URE-KOTE 2000. 11. OPTIONAL - Topcoat with specified LiquidConcrete product (recommend URE-KOTE 1000). Due to rapid cure, pre-blending sufficient units of B/C mixture is critical to successful completion of project. Example: Project requires 10 units of UREKOTE 2000 Emery Plate. It will be necessary to pre-blend 10 units of B/C mixture, PRIOR to adding Part A and Emery to mixture. When ready to install apply all product necessary to complete overlay, add factory measured Part A and Emery to each B/C mixture.
