PRODUCT DATA SHEET Product: PRO-SEAL 60W Version: May 5, 2008 TECHNICAL DATA DESCRIPTION PRO-SEAL 60W is a unique water-based epoxy resin system for use as a primer to promote adhesion for subsequent coating systems, a sealer to mitigate moisture vapor transmission on concrete substrates, and as a low-cost decorative coating. PRO-SEAL 60W is also used as a curing agent on freshly placed (green) concrete. It can also be used as a primer or concrete sealer on old or “green” concrete. Available in clear for sealer and curing applications; a variety of colors are available for low-cost decorative finishes. PRO-SEAL 60W is a usage proven product in a variety of applications such as manufacturing plants, warehouses, mechanical plants, electrical plants and various other applications in commercial and industrial uses. TYPICAL APPLICATIONS ✓ Concrete Sealer (including green concrete) ✓ Primer for other LiquidConcrete Systems ✓ Decorative Coating ✓ Concrete Curing Agent FEATURES Can be applied to “green” concrete Easy to Mix with a “Jiffy” paddle Inhibits Fluid Permeation Stops Concrete Dusting Protects against attack from diluted alkalis and acids Long pot life Rapid, easy application Tenacious Adhesion Good Penetration Low Odor USAGE PRO-SEAL 60-W maybe applied by roller, brush or low pressure sprayer. 60-W is widely used as a quality concrete sealer, even when used on “green” concrete. 60-W also serves as an excellent primer for other LiquidConcrete systems. PACKAGING (concentrated solution) 1 gal kit yields 1.5 gal mixed volume 3 gal kit yields 4.5 gal mixed volume INSTALLATION GUIDELINES PRE-OVERLAY CHECKLIST 1. All substrates shall be sound, solid and free from any loose or failing components. Substrates must not flex or deform under load. All surfaces must be free from previously applied coatings, dust, rust, scale, grease, oil, and other bond breaking contaminants. Page 1 of 3 PRODUCT DATA SHEET Product: PRO-SEAL 60W Version: May 5, 2008 2. Cracks greater than 1/6 inch in width shall be routed to a minimum of 1/4 inch wide by 1/4 inch deep and filled with URE-KOTE R-60 or URE-KOTE PF-60 materials. 3. Fill all expansion joints as required – using UREKOTE PF-60. 4. All application equipment shall be in good operating condition. 5. Coating materials shall not be applied when the ambient air temperature or the surface temperature is outside the boundaries as stated on the product data sheets and application guidelines. 6. Keep material out of sun or hot areas prior to applying, as this may cause working time to be diminished and could cause poor appearance and/or adhesion. SURFACE PREPARATION NOTE: For primer, sealer, and decorative coating applications. 1. Prepare surface to a minimum CSP-3 profile, removing all surface contaminants, including sealers, oils, or other bond inhibiting substances. Mechanically abrade by shotblaster, diamond grinding, or other means to provide a coarse (rough) texture. 2. Rout out all cracks to a minimum of ½” wide by ½” deep, using concrete saw equipped with dry cut crack chasing blade. 3. Vacuum surface free of all dust and dirt. 4. Fill all routed cracks with LiquidConcrete approved material (recommend URE-KOTE PF-60 or URE-KOTE R-60 depending on conditions). MIXING AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Pour B component into A and mix thoroughly using a mechanical mixer for a minimum of 3 minutes then add proper amount of water & mix in. For a 1 gal kit add ½ gal distilled water, for 3 gal kit add 1 ½ gal distilled water (Add 1/3 of water at a time & stir.). ROLLER APPLICATION 1. Dip roller into container of mixed PRO-SEAL 60W. 2. Roll onto substrate using high-quality, shed resistant, low-lint, 3/16” or 3/8” nap roller, scrub in. SQUEEGEE APPLICATION Recommended for applications of 5 - 10 mil thicknesses. 1. Pour a small amount of mixed PRO-SEAL 60W onto floor. 2. Squeegee onto floor using firm, but even pressure, back roll with roller to scrub in. CURING AGENT APPLICATIONS Apply as soon as concrete can be walked on without leaving a mark. Squeegee and back roll to scrub in with 3/16- 3/8” roller. Apply at 8-10 mils WFT. Meets ASTM C 156-98 APPLICATION OVER EXISTING EPOXY COATING 1. Clean coating of all dirt, grease, oil or other contaminants by washing with degreaser or soap. 2. Rinse well with fresh water and dry. 3. Sand with sand paper, 36 grit on a floor buffer type sander. 4. Remove dust by vacuum and tack cloth. 5. Apply PRO-SEAL 60W epoxy primer at 5-10 mils WFT. 6. Follow ROLLER APPLICATION instructions CLEAN UP 1. Clean tools immediately after use with water. MATERIAL SAFETY DATA SHEETS Material safety data sheets are available upon request.
